American Hustle was the second David O. Russell film I've seen (Silver Linings...) where the trailer promised far more humour and excitement than the film delivered. Was expecting a witty Ocean's style caper. Think he's got a bit of a heavy touch. And oh the voiceover!!! Make it stop!
Picked up Three Kings to rewatch. We'll see if that puts the final nail in the DOR coffin.
Update. Rewatched Three Kings. Only managed 25 mins. Just felt like a guy trying to tell a racist joke to point out how stupid racists are. Made me feel a little dirty watching it.
